A facial dimple(s-d) is a small natural indentation that always gets more attention than a non-dimpled one. Dimple is linked to heredity trait and very few people are lucky to be birth with dimple on their cheeks. However with dimple surgery, anyone can create permanent dimple.
Procedure:
The surgery takes about 30 minutes. Dimple surgery performed under local anesthesia. This is outpatient procedure and the patients return to home after the surgery.
The dimpleplasty is a minimal invasive procedure. Surgeon made a small opening inside the cheek and removing a tiny piece of the cheek muscle and closed with one or two absorbable sutures, which dissolve over the next few days. This creates a natural looking dimple on the face.
Recovery:
There is chance of causing mild swelling which will go away in a few days. Cold packs can help reduce it (the swelling).
Small scars are usually well hidden and normally fade in time. Complete recovery takes two weeks. Surgeon will give instructions on how to care.
